Offered for auction is a FINELY crafted Austro-Hungarian jeweled lavelier antique necklace. The marks are worn on this piece, but I believe the hallmark on the clasp is for Vienna 1848: Meister Schifere according to the research I have found on Austrian silver marks. Some Austro Hungarian pieces are crudely made, but this necklace is finely executed in sterling silver with gilt / gold overlay. It is set with beautiful robin's egg blue Persian Turquoise cabs and tiny seed pearls. The chain is also exquisitely crafted with jeweled segments and a jeweled clasp. It is in excellent vintage condition with no damage. Very slight wear to the gilding. It measures 8 3/4" down each side to the lavelier drop for a total of 17 3/4" around. It then hangs down 3 3/8" long and measures 1 1/2" across. This is a superb old necklace, dating to the early to mid 1800s. It would make a beautiful addition to any collection. Some of the photos show a matching ring that I am also listing. The makers mark on the ring is different but the ring is almost a perfect match and were most likely worn together.
