Offered for auction is a lovely and unusual antique carved mother of pearl necklace, earrings and brooch. This lovely luminous set is carved in the shape of Chinese Temple Lions or Foo Dogs. The earrings are screwbacks, the brooch has an old C- clasp. The necklace measures 16 1/4" long from end to end and measures 1" wide. The brooch measures 1 5/8" tall x 1 across. The earrings measure 1" tall and 5/8" across. These pieces were difficult to photograph, they are really beautiful in person, much nicer than the photos. These are not modern piececs .... the mother of pearl is deeply carved and these are much thicker than newer pieces. I have run across the brooches before in the Foo Dog, but never a full necklace and earrings. These pieces are in very good vintage condition. The only issue I can find is the tiny tip the tail is missing on the brooch. These pieces are really lovely.... luminous with just a touch of irridescent color.
