The Islamic style decorative motif features beautiful leaf and flower designs accented with blue, red, and gold enamel quadrants. In overall good condition with scattered losses to the enamel designs. There are dents and dings along the rim. The handle on the back is broken as pictured. One of the four decorative nuts on the front of the shield looks as though it has been reapplied after a break to the bolt stem, which originally anchored it. It remains stable. This condition is consistent with age and use. Measures 11 1/8" in diameter. This is a striking antique shield and will make a fine decorative accent.
