Offered for your consideration is a masterful piece of antique stoneware. This is what is called a batter jug and it is complete with handle and lid which I believe are original. It also has a beautiful handle on the back to make pouring easier. And to top it all off it has a magnificent cobalt blue bird on the front. All is shown in the pictures which speak for themselves. This gem is an impressive size measuring 9 1/2 inches to the top of the stoneware, 13 1/2 inches to the top of the handle, 5 inches across the top, 9 inches from side to side with a 1 3/4 spout. It is in MINT condition, with no hairlines, cracks or repairs. It comes with an old newspaper article showing that it sold on 4-25-86 for $650. These outstanding pieces have multiplied in value at a phenomenal rate. T is a reasonable reserve on this spectacular piece of stoneware for the discerning collecter of the best of the best.
