If you are new to my auctions - I'll explain a bit about myself: I travel to China every few months to buy a variety of antiques which I sell on eBay. I specialize in a few unusual things including antique Chinese eyewear, anything *old* related to opium, antique Chinese police handcuffs, old locks, antique Chinese surgical instruments, old Tibetan artifacts... and I'm sure t are a few more things which I can't recall right now. Up for auction is another pair of extremely unusual pre-1900 (to say the least) pair of Chinese sunglasses! The lenses are made from crystal - a fact that be easily verified by examining the natural imperfections in the crystal lenses. The arms are double folding, which is typical of glasses of that time period in China, but the second halves of the folding arms are quite unusual! I've never seen this style before. Also - take a look at how THICK the frames are - heavy too! I believe they are constructed from BRASS. I weighed them and they weigh 60 grams. To give you an idea of how heavy that is compared to the other glasses - look at my other auctions and you will see a pair of yellow horn glasses. Those glasses weigh only 29 grams. These are TWICE as heavy! Take a look at all of the photos and bid with confidence! When I have room in my auctions, I include photos I took on my buying trips. On this trip, I traveled to a rice paddy village called Ping An, several hours by bus from Guilin, in south east China. The village is only accessable by stone foot paths which wind through the rice paddies. The village is the gateway to several other more remote villages which again, are only accessable by walking for hours through the rice paddies you see in the photos. I ALWAYS SHIP INTERNATIONALLY - just email for a quote to your country. Check my feedback and bid with confidence!
