This auction is for a lovely antique Chinese silk applique, which is hand-embroidered with the "forbidden stitch," which somewhat resembles a french knot, but it is more shapely, flatter and not so twisted. It is often used as a single stitch generally massed together to cover a large area. This lovely applique has very tiny stitches and is outlined with coppery metal threads. T is an area on one of the petals, which is missing a little of the metal thread. This was salvaged from a late 19th century small tapestry, which was truly beyond repair (shredded) and this was one of the few pieces that I was able to save. It measures approximately 3 7/8" x 3.5". S&H is $1.35 within USA. I prefer payment with a money order or cashiers check. No personal checks please. All sales are final unless I have grossly misrepresented an item. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me and I will get back to you as quickly as possible. Payment is due within 5 days of auction end. I will notify the winning bidder within 24 hours of auction with an invoice. International Bidders are most welcome, but please notify me before placing a bid (must pay with Pay Pal only). I would also like to note that since all sales are final, if you are not sure about this item and have had all questions answered sufficiently, please do not place a bid. I do not want you to be unhappy with your purchase. T are no hidden flaws or mysteries behind anything I sell. I will show you all flaws through my pictures and will describe to the best of my ability. If I do not know about the item, I will state it in my auction. If you need additional pictures, please ask and I will be happy to send them to you.
