A beautifully Ornate 19th century Antique Gold Gilt Gessoed Picture Frame with Vined Floral Pattern over Crosshatching on the inner border and Laurel Leaf with Berry Pattern on the outer border. The Outer Edge is a series of small round Beads. T is reeding on the inner most edge and seperating the two types of detailed designs. T is the period backing board and a Gallery Label applied to it that reads James S. Earle & Sons Earles Galleries 810 Chestnut St. Philadelphia. The original picture holder size is 10.25 by 12.25 inches although sometime during its life someone installed wooden spacers which cut down on this size a bit. These can be removed by the new owner or left as is if the meet the needs of your Art size. The Frame overall measures 14.62 by 16.75 inches by 1.25 thick. T is one obvious loss of gesso on the front which measures about 1 inch in length.(see photos) This can easily be repaired by a restorer. T are some dents, scratches and dings to the outer and lower side edges. The side edges are black enameled looking about 1/2 inch up from the back. One of the highest quality 19th century Frames we have offered in a while. Offered with a low opening bid and no reserve.
