This is a wonderful old Chinese painting on pith paper (rice paper). It is from the 1800s and the portrait may be of a royal individual or of a scholar. The painting is extremely well done. The old rice paper has split and one can see this in my photos. Im not sure if there is any way to restore these old paintings. But it is spectacular just the way it is. The painting measures 9 X 5, and in the antique frame it measures 10.5 X 14 inches. For a fine antique Chinese collection.
