I am selling a family estate and will be listing many incredible antiques and estate items. This was brought back from Europe by my aunt in the 1940's. This is a fantastic antique 19th century hand carved wood St. Francis devotional statue circa 1870-1880. It is made from a solid piece of wood and an added base. The hand-tooled marks are visible throughout. He is holding a cross and an alms bowl. The cross is made of two thin pieces of wood tied together with string. The bird is also hand carved. This is not a reproduction. It is in remarkably good condition with a couple of tiny chips to the back of the base, barely noticable. Size is 13 1/2" high X 5" at the base.
