At auction a, Antique 19th C PORTRAIT MINIATURE OIL ON IVORY of Madame Recamier. This was painted in the late 1800's and is painted on wafer thin ivory that is less than 5% of the total mass of the item. Offered at no reserve! Part of a large high end collector's estate. The frame measure 4 3/4" by 4 3/4" and the portrait measures 2 5/8" tall by 2 5/8" wide. In very good condition with a few minor scratches on the wood frame as pictured. Features a beautiful young Madame, named on the back of the portrait, sitting on a chair with a white dress. The portrait is signed as pictured D' Gerard. Fantastic addition to any collection.
