We have sold particular pieces of jewelry that have ranged in price from $15 to over $6,000 and have been very blessed with wonderful customers who we truly enjoy working with. Although we are not certified jewelers, we do obtain as much information as possible about each piece so that all details are clear before anyone should decide to bid. We have a refund policy that guarantees that the winner shall receive exactly what is stated in the auction :) - This particular piece is one of the finest in the lot left to me by my wonderful Grandmother. This beautiful diamond and gold pendant has exactly twenty-four (24) brilliant round cut diamonds in it and is made from 14k gold. T are three rows of sparkling diamonds on this pendant and each row contains eight (8) diamonds each. The pendant measures one (1) inch vertically and 5/8 of an inch horizontally. Please note that this pendant does NOT come with the gold chain that can be seen in some of the pictures, this listing is for the PENDANT ONLY. Each round diamond is approximately .5 to .7 carats each which makes the total carat weight of the pendant anyw from 1.2c to 1.68c. We realize that is quite a difference in carat weight, however 2/3 jewelers measured the diamonds as being .7c each and one measured them as being .5c, so tfore we want to mention both estimates so that t are no "surprises" once the winner receives this absolutely gorgeous item. I have never seen a pendant designed like this one and can only describe it as a "half moon" style. We have had this striking pendant looked at by 2 different jewelers, along with individuals who are very well versed in gemstones and fine jewelry so that we can verify the authenticity of this item and also find an accurate estimate. This pendant is estimated to be worth between $1200 - $1700. The story that accompanies these pendant is one of the better ones that my family and I know about :) This gorgeous pendant was a gift, given to my Grandmother, before my grandparents were engaged. Evidently my Grandmother was quite distressed in her late teens due to the fact that three different men were courting her for her hand in marriage (and yes back in the day this was considered VERY taboo for a woman to "date" more than one man at a time! Go Grandma! :) ). My Grandfather somehow became aware of the other men who were vying for my grandmother's love and instead of flying into a jealous rage he devised a plan that would help win her heart. One evening the doorbell rang at my Grandmother's parents home and when her mother (my great Grandmother)opened the door she saw a tiny little gift wrapped box on the door step, addressed to my grandmother. When my Grandmother opened the box she saw this pendant and a note that said "This is for you, my darling. I do not care how many men wish to steal your heart from me, because I know it is an impossible feat. Every diamond on this pendant represents each day that has gone by since you have come into my life. Every day has been sparkling, exquisite and simply timeless, just like a diamond, and every day with you will be more beautiful than any diamond on this earth." Grandpa had the moves didn't he? ;) They were married about a month later ! If you are possibly wondering why I am willing to part with such a beautiful item, please know that my Grandmother left my family and I with many stunning pieces that will stay in our family for generations to come.
