Up for auction is a most charming antique quilt that measures 66" x 74". It has ben pieced in the prettiest color scheme imaginable - the 7" blocks are pale primrose yellow, wee black white print triangles, the 1 1/2" squares are all printed feedsacks. Combined with the pale 30s green alternate blocks you have a winning combination. Our depression era quilter had a wonderful 'eye' keeping the center squares in red/pink prints that hold the design together. It is medium/ heavy weight and hand quilted in out line and a diamond grid. Other names for this well loved motif are 'hole in the barn door','churn dash', 'pioneer patch' 'hens and chickens' and many more It is in fair antique condition - I hesitate to call it a cutter as I think it could be restored, the edges have some bites taken out, t is surface tearing to 3-4 small patches and some minimal fading on the green squares. I love this quilt! It 'reads' beautifully, is well thought out and executed; a tribute to the skill, ingenuity and creativity of the depression era quilter. I'm happy to answer any questions and to combine shipping, thank you.
