This auction is for a tall rope / swirl style brass candlestick. It could be used on an altar, but could also be used as a floor Paschal / Easter Candlestand. The only odd and wrong thing about this one is that it has a clearly non-original socket in the center of it that appears to be for a 1 1/8" candle. As you can see the from the pictures inside the upper bobeche, this was built for a larger candle socket - probably for a 1 3/4" or 2" one, I would guess? You can get those sockets at any religious goods dealer. I just want the buyer to be aware that the socket that is on this one is undersized (at least in my opinion) and most likely not original.This candlestick also has a very thick coat of tarnish / patina. I'm sure it would come off if you do the work to polish it with a good metal cream polish or Brasso-type metal cleaner. The pictures show you what you will get.
