Antique United States flag with 48 stars from the 1940's, prior to Alaskan and Hawaiian statehood, measures 3.5 by 5.5 feet Lovely worn and faded condition from many years of flying outside Made prior to the invention of nylon, linen cloth is now thin and delicate Some small holes (pictured) and one hand-sewn mend add to its charm, would look great framed in a home furnished with vintage Americana decor Stripes are sewn, stars are printed Two metal grommets for flying/hanging Light steaming recommended for smoothing wrinkles Will ship in a box, so as to avoid damage to the flag during shipping My dad purchased this beautiful well-loved flag at an estate sale in Wooster, Ohio when he was a little boy during the late 1960's because he liked the symmetry of the 48 stars. My parents are starting to downsize in preparation for retirement, so I am helping them list some items of value that they can no longer afford to keep. Buyer must submit payment within two days of winning or contact me for an alternate arrangement. I will ship as soon as possible after receiving payment. A refund will be given (minus shipping) if the flag is returned in the same condition as received within 14 days after the buyer receives it. If buyer wins multiple auctions on the same day, please request an invoice for combined shipping prior to payment. Thank you
