We love being a power seller on eBay and have and will go above and beyond to make our customers completely happy and satisfied. Our items are packed with great care and the items go out in the best condition possible! Hello and thank you for checking out our very special auction today. We have sold particular pieces of jewelry that have ranged in price from $15 to over $6,000 and have been very blessed with wonderful customers who we truly enjoy working with. Although we are not certified jewelers, we do obtain as much information as possible about each piece so that all details are clear before anyone should decide to bid. We have a refund policy that guarantees that the winner shall receive exactly what is stated in the auction :) - This particular piece is an absolutely stunning vintage ring. This is an antique ruby and diamond platinum ring that has a quite unique setting that is familiar to the styles of the 1930's. This beautiful ring belonged to my Grandmother and it was given to her in 1935 by her husband, my Grandfather, and if you would like to hear the story that accompanies this ring please read further on after the description :) The main gemstone in the ring is an oval brillaint cut 1.5 carat ruby and the ruby is surrounded by twelve (12) brilliant round cut diamonds. The ruby does not have any inclusions noticeable to the naked eye and looks dark in color until the light hits it and reveals a beautiful red color. The ruby is 6mm X 4mm. The round diamonds (2mm each) are each paired into two's which look make the ring look as if they are marquise cut diamonds :) Each diamond sparkles with intensity and is estimated to be .125c - which multiplied by twelve (12) is 1.5c (for our interested bidders to see how we came up with the total carat weight). The ring is set in platinum and has a unique and striking design on each side of the ring. We (my father and I) believe the ring to be sized at a 9, but if that is not the size you wish it to be then I am sure that it can be re-sized at the jeweler of your choice. This ring has been estimated to be worth between $1900 and $2500 due to the value of the gemstones, metal and of course rarity due to the ring being an antique :) The story that accompanies this ring is one that was remembered by my Aunt (my grandparents first born). After my grandmother had her second child (my father) she unfortunately suffered from post partum depression which was something that was virtually unknown back in the 1930's, none the less spoken about. My Grandfather was distraught over my Grandmother's depression and even though he tried his best to get her to be happy, nothing really worked. For three months straight my grandmother insisted on sitting out on their second floor balcony from morning til evening so that she could simply stare at the rose garden below. Every day my Grandfather would go out into the garden and look for an exquisite rose for her to have on her bed side table so that while she was away from the balcony, she could still enjoy the beauty that still existed in this world. Evidently my Grandmother did not speak much during these months but the beautiful look and smell of the roses gave her the will to get out of bed and make it to the balcony w she would get plenty of sunshine and fresh air. However the rose bushes soon started to wilt away and my Grandfather feared that his wife would not find any reason to keep getting out of bed in the morning. One particular day as she found her way to their bedroom, after a day on the balcony, instead of seeing a lovely rose on the bed side table she saw this particular ring that had a note with it. We aren't sure exactly what the note read but we do know that my Grandfather wished for her to see something as beautiful as a rose every day and tfore found this beautiful ring for her to wear until the rose bushes bloomed again:) Grandpa had the moves didn't he? ;) If you a...
