Lovely mahogany Chippendale dining room set, with four side chairs and one captain's chair. Featuring ball and claw feet, the beautiful brocade fabric covering the chairs is in near perfect condition. This will make a grand addition to someones home who will appreciate the potential of this beautiful set, in need of some restoration. Table has slight damage (approximately 6" round) on top w sides meet in middle. Damage in finish caused by "Plug-In' air freshener which was unplugged and laid on table when vacuuming and resulting liquid leaking onto table caused damage in finish. Additionally, one ball and claw foot was "customized by four month old Scottish Terrier who apparently confused it with a chew toy and managed to gnaw a good deal of the finish off and actually create an interesting challenge for someone industrious and talented enough to restore set to it's original beauty. This set is easily worth five times the starting bid and perhaps more when restored to its full glory but it will require a labor of love. Seating needs additional support and padding and chairs will need to be strengthened with correctly installed dowels; but for the amount of work required to realize this diamond in the rough, this could be the best bargain likely to be found for a Chippendale set of this quality.
