All 7 pieces are 100% hand painted by the famous "MORIMURA" family of the Noritaki porcelain works of Japan. Each corn cob appears to be sitting in relief on the various plates and platter,it looks as though one could pick up the cobs.Being individually hand painted, each item has subtle differences!! The backgrounds are pearlized and irridescent.
I listed them under Nippon because they are of the period immediately following the Nippon era(1920's),AND they are of the exquisite quality of the era,AND the famous "Green"M" in wreath mark that went all through the Nippon era. All 7 items are in Excellent condition!!! The large,Handled serving platter has some minor gold wear on the border; the 6 plates are all PERFECT!! The handled platter is 12 in. long,7 1/2 in. wide, and 1 in. deep. The plates are 7 3/4 in. in diameter. I cannot say enough about the Beauty of this set,it is SENSATIONAL;and probably one-of-a-kind(of course each hand painting is unique). My wife and I are 78 years old and these have been proudly displayed in our home for most of our lives. They have never been used by us.Now it is time for them to go. Questions??? NOTE: I can send additional pictures to an E-mail address if desired!!
