Huge old ANTIQUE #80 DAZEY BUTTER CHURN COMPLETE & ORIGINAL. I am not a collector of butter churns and only know what I have read on the web and on Ebay about them. Raised letters on glass jar reads "DAZEY CHURN NO. 80 Patented Feb 1922 DAZEY CHURN & MFG. CO. STLOUIS MO. MADE IN U.S.A.". The cap appears to be steel, the mechanism has an orangy-red coloring - possibly bronze metal. The wooden handle is painted black and the wood handle measures 2 1/2" long x 1" at the widest point. The top has a strainer which measures 2 1/4" x about 1 1/2". The top lid is 6" in diameter, the largest gear measures 3" in diameter. T is the number "1109" stamped into the turning handle. "DaZey" is at the top of the mechanism frame - the "Z" in Dazey is larger than the other letters and t is a daisy logo at the center of that mechanism. The wooden paddles measure 5" high x about 4 3/4" wide. T are two paddles mounted on a center rectangular post. The mechanism with paddles weighs 2.18 pounds. The paddles measure 9 3/4" from the lid to the bottom of the paddles. The bottom of the jar measures 7 1/4" square and has a 1 7/8" circle ain the glass at the center. From top to bettom the jar with mechanism measures 16". The top of the jar is smooth & the paddles fit quite tightly as the are lowered into the jar.The complete unit weighs nine pounds.It's amazing to me how much information t is to the details of Dazey butter churns.
