Slag glass" is today's term, and most everyone has seen slag glass in vintage and contemporary glass creations but perhaps didn't know what it was called. Slag glass is glass with two or more colors, often white and another color, swirled together. The age of slag glass items can often be pinpointed due to the color. For example, it is known that pink slag glass was first created in the U.S. around 1900. Purple and blue slag glass were created in the 1800's.Slag glass was often used in lamp panels, so you will hear the term "slag glass lamp" describing these items.This beautiful slag glass lamp has a metal overlay.I believe the base is cast metal. This lamp is 26" tall and the base is 9" wide. The shade is 9 " high and 21" wide There is 2 pieces of the caramel slag missing and 2 strip of metal that secures the slag. There is a chip where the cord goes in .there is a small piece of filigree missing on one corner I hope my picture show all . There are markings on the the bottom of the lamp is 538 Please feel free to ask question.
