Hello! You are bidding on one double-sided ad fan. I can't place an exact year on this fan, but I can GUARANTEE it is at least circa 1930s, although I think it might be more like circa 1880s or 1890s. The typography used on the name written on this fan is similar to the style Hoffman House was using in their ads before the turn of the century. It is script. By the 1900s, Hoffman House was using less fiigree-type script, but blockier letters, and had abandoned the long, obelisk tails in their "F"s.

Front reads: "SMOKE/ The Hoffman House Bouquet/ Cigar/ 15,500,000 sold annually/ Foster-Hilson Company Makers/ New-York City."

Back has a scene of what I THINK is Venice. T are Canals, mosques and some Italian flags. The fan back also has cutouts of buildings scenes on this map-like scene. The odd thing is, these building all have American flags on top of them, and the predominant flag is the American flag. Probably a biased drawing? If anyone has any information on this, I would love to know.

Cutouts include: Grand Canal, Northview; Machinery Hall; Fine Arts Building; U.S. Government Building; Agricultural Building; Administration Building; Electrical Building; The Auditorium; Horticultural Building; Fisheries Building; and Masonic Temple. All have American flags on top of them.

Sides of fan have stickers that read: "The Hoffman House Bouquet Cigar/ Foster-Hilson Company Makers/ New-York City."

Fan span measures approximately 24.5 inches. From bottom to top of fan measures 13.5 inches. Fan is in very good condition, with the exception of one 1.5 tear along a crease, second from the end.

Made in Italy.
