Antique Adirondake Wood Frame with Original Victorian Print circa 1880's This is a lovely antique adirondake carved walnut wood frame with applied leaves on the corners and a gold inner frame, one frame inside the other. The print is of two upper class Victorian ladies lounging in thier beautiful finery and is the original and has never been changed. It says literally " LA MODE ILLUSTR'EE" and under that is "Bureaux du Journal 56 rue Jacob Paris" . T are two separate signatures....one at the lower left of the illustration and one at the lower right. In addition t are the words "Leroy: imp. Paris" centered right under the illustration. Additional features include a glass cover and a wood backing covered with paper and the original wire hanger. This wonderful frame and print originally came from the estate of my Great Grandmother in Webb City Missouri. Measurements: 19 1/2" x 15 1/2" from tip to tip of wood frame. The actual illustration measures 14" x 10" inside the gold frame. Condition: This is a very old frame and the dark finish has worn appropiately in several places but the frame itself is in good solid condition. The gold inner frame has a few small chips to the paint and one barely noticeable chip to the wood in the lower left hand corner. The print is in very good condition with no rips or stains.
