This is an antique carving set that was Made in India. This has been in my family for as long as I can remember and was passed down from my grandmother. The sheath and handles of the knife and fork are made of brass. Please observe the intricate engravings on the Sheath and handles. The knife blade and fork blades look to be made of stainless steel. On the bottom of the sheath is an engraving which reads "Made in India 712". On the ends of the sheath the number "39" has been engraved in two places. The fork has the engraving "Made in India" on the stainless steel blade area, and the knife has what is intended to be the same inscription but it reads "ADE IN IA" which looks like the inscription was not completely engraved during manufacture. The total length of the piece with the knife and fork inserted into the sheath is 17 inches. The knife is 12 inches long including the handle and the fork is 11.5 inches long including the handle. The knife blade is about 7-3/4 inches long and the fork blade is about 7-1/4 inches long. This item is used so t are some slight marks and tarnish in some areas. Some of this is probably due to age.
