Item Description:
Antique Allcock Stag Fly Fishing Lures (12 total) with box and the paper insert. In perfectly mint condition. Seriously doubt these have ever been used as I think my Aunt primarily Lake fished. I have several antique lures/tackle up for auction right now, so check them out. The Story behind these Treasures: About 9 years ago, we had to place my late Grandfather into a home because of Alzheimers. He and my Grandmother, being the typical post World War 2 couple were very sensible people who I swear threw NOTHING away. Their house and garage was filled with Time Capsules everyw you turned. As it was a sad time, it was actually fun...a walk through history under one roof. He was an Air Force pilot who flew in the South Pacific, she was a Army nurse stationed in India. They both hailed from Minnesota and after WW2 they married and lived the typical 50's post war life...she stayed home with the kids and he worked outside the home, selling life insurance, yes life insurance...how post WW2 does that get? He ended up heading the entire West Coast division for that company and remained in that position for nearly 40 years. My grandmother ran the household with perfection. My Grandfather had an Aunt...Aunt Millie to be exact who was quite the pistol from the stories that were told. She never married, was a creative free spirit...painted, wrote, did all sorts of handicrafts, cooked and was quite the Fisher woman. I ran across this OLD metal box in his garage and upon opening it up, found out it was hers...complete with her Minnesota fishing license dated 1951, the age of 58. I don't think that box had been opened since then, probably the last time she fished. Being quite the independent free spirit my self, who also occasionally fishes (trout from a creek), I was intrigued and set her box in my pile of treasures to take home. As the past 9 years have gone by, it has sat in my attic. My intention was to move one day to a cabin with my husband, frame everything and hang it on the wall. Well, my husband passed 4 years ago and having 4 kids to raise alone, I have made the decision to sell these items in order gather money to buy my 15 year old son a classic Mustang to restore. While it does somewhat pain me to sell these items, it is my son's dream to restore a car...and don't we all have a dream of our own. Whoever wins any of these old fishing pieces, may it bring you closer to your dream collection. Thanks for reading my story and happy bidding. Policies: I do not offer refunds, so if you have any questions, please ask. I am not an expert, but have researched these lures to at least know what I have and what their basic value is. Please check my other listings for some other cool antique lures, reels, spinners, etc. I also have the old metal tool box with weights, hooks, net, stringers and such. I am not listing it, but if anyone is interested, ASK. I ship within 2 days of payment of an auction and expect payment within 5 days of the auctions end. Paypal or money order. If it is a personal check, your item will ship after 10 days. I ship via USPS Priority and of course will combine purchase to save you shipping costs. I only charge for the shipping, not the packing.
