Great estate find! I am very pleased to offer this finely detailed, antique statue of liberty. The American committee was in charge of raising private funds to build the pedestal building that the real Statue of liberty is now standing on. One of the ways they achieved they're goals was by the selling of these miniture models to the public through department stores and by subscription. I have seen pictures of the original 1885 newspaper advertisements. So this was made after the French donated the Statue of Liberty, but before it was erected in the U.S.A.. This version of the statue is made of white metal, spelter, pot metal, whatever you want to call it. Made in two pieces, the Statue is bronzed and the base silvered. The marks are hidden in between the two pieces when it's together, with the 1876 patent date on the top of the base, and "American committee model" on the bottom of the statue herself. I actualy found the marks by accident when it came apart unexpectantly. The joint is still very tight and I wont take it apart again. Is in amazing condition for its age, has a few tiny marks and t, the very tip of the torch, and the crown points. I took lots of pictures to show the little imperfections so please look at them all closely! Over all I think Its real fine condition with no bends, tweaks, breaks, missing bits, corrosion read more
