Antique dining table: banquet table. American Federal period large 2-part dining banquet table of crotch mahogany with superb carving. Extremely hard-to-find large size in a genuine period American dining table. Easily seats 8, can seat 10. Masterful acanthus leaf carving in raised panels on each apron end and on each corner at top of leg posts. Top quality, beautifully figured crotch mahogany with best patina. Ten-leg table in 2 parts, each section with one large drop leaf, rope-turned legs on ball feet. When closed, each section becomes a D end which can be placed against a wall as a console table. 89" long open. 41"W. 29"H. Drop leaves each 22"W. Each section made of one large mahogany board. New York City, ca. 1815. Repair to one leg top but overall splendid original condition. Age and authenticity unequivocally guaranteed. More e-mail pix can be sent to serious buyers.
