This set of 4 waterfowl feature 2 ducks and 2 ducklings. This primitive set is a rare find. They are all original and have the originalold paint lots of patina, some crazing and some wear. They are wood, hand carved and hand detailed. They are not signed or marked anywhere. The large green duck is 19” tall. Its legs have wire on the inside and the wood is separated a tad, but it still stands alone well. It has lots of patina and wear and the wood is somewhat crackled from being dried out with age. Its duckling is more of a turquoise in color, it measures 7 ¼” tall. The pale yellow duck is 17” tall it has a chippy pale yellow finish that is aged and shows crackling and crazing. It has a webbed foot slightly separated from the leg. It may need a little balancing or maybe even a shim to get it to stand alone well. Its 7 1/4" high duckling is a slightly brighter yellow in color, it stands alone well. I do not know what sort of wood these are made of but the two larger ducks are very heavy even though the wood has long dried out. This is a fabulous set for the collector of American Folk Art, Water Fowl, or just one who loves primitive antiques.
