Antique American R J Horner quarter sawn oak & curved glass china hutch, carved with fantastic griffins, in great condition, circa 1880s. Fine antique American R J Horner quarter sawn oak, curved glass china hutch, carved with griffins and an ornate carved crown, circa 1880s. To the top is an ornately carved crown carved with scrolling foliate, the china cabinet is of curved form to the center is a curved glass door and to each side t is a curved glass panel. The door is flanked by a pair of substantial columns, to the base t are a pair of ornately carved griffins to the breast of each is an pronounced oval cartouche (characteristic to R J Horner carving), the legs have stylized carvings of oak leaves and terminate to claw feet with assuredly carved talons. Enclosed are the four original adjustable curved shelves, the cabinet is made of the best solid quarter sawn 'tiger oak' with incredible graining, all the glass is the original wavy Victorian glass, the cabinet has the original key, no damage or repair of any kind! Size; 70" tall x 46" wide x 17" deep, a very fine antique American R J Horner quarter sawn oak & curved glass china hutch carved with griffins, circa 1880s, a great investment.
