Antique American Mahogany Original Footstool circa 1840

This is a beautiful American Empire mahogany Footstool. It has beautiful crotch mahogany veneers throughout and the serpentine shape is outstanding, with beehive beading all around. The upholstery is all original, with original horse hair upholstery and the filler is pig hair. The needlepoint on top is now deteriorating and coming loose from the black fabric. The top is removeable and fits nicely in the framed bottom (please see pictures). You can easily put new fabric on this footstool if you like. It is in great condition. Please ask any questions you might have. Thank you. Circa 1840. Measures: approx. 22" x 19" and about 15" high . |
