This is a SUPERIOR example of a Japanese made American style Schoolhouse Clock in OUTSTANDING NEAR ALL-ORIGINAL BEAUTIFUL condition. Japanese Wall clocks are of excellent quality, very well made. Japan sent many clocks to The United States around the turn of the century when a new trade law was enacted. The people in Japan copied the favorite American and German clocks, improved upon them, added some Japanese flavor and sent them to us and back to Germany! They were received favorably by the people of the world. These clocks were made very well, as well as keeping very great time. When the Japanese copied them they also made many improvements. h3> This particular model is an American Schoolhouse type medium size wall clock in SUPERIOR, NEAR ALL ORIGINAL condition. The only part not original is a beautiful correct replaced dial. Made around the turn of the century. It looks WONDERFUL. It has an 8-day time and strike movement, which counts the hours on the hour a large gong with a very neat bold sound. The movement runs very well and keeps good time. The movement was just cleaned, oiled, pivots polished and bushings added w needed. This clock will not need servicing for many years to come, and is ready for the next 100 years!
