This is a SUPERIOR example of a Japanese made American style Schoolhouse Clock in OUTSTANDING NEAR ALL-ORIGINAL BEAUTIFUL condition. Japanese Wall clocks are of excellent quality, very well made. Japan sent many clocks to The United States around the turn of the century when a new trade law was enacted. The people in Japan copied the favorite American and German clocks, improved upon them, added some Japanese flavor and sent them to us and back to Germany! They were received favorably by the people of the world. These clocks were made very well, as well as keeping very great time. When the Japanese copied them they also made many improvements. h3> This particular model is an American Schoolhouse type medium size wall clock in SUPERIOR, NEAR ALL ORIGINAL condition. The only part not original is a beautiful correct replaced dial. Made around the turn of the century. It looks WONDERFUL. It has an 8-day time and strike movement, which counts the hours on the hour a large gong with a very neat bold sound. The movement runs very well and keeps good time. The movement was just cleaned, oiled, pivots polished and bushings added w needed. This clock will not need servicing for many years to come, and is ready for the next 100 years! This is a labor intensive service, with many clockmakers charging 250.00 and up. We recommend having it oiled every 2 to 3 years to keep it in tip-top shape! We will include a professional oiler and easy instructions so you could even do it yourself! This clock measures 22 3⁄4 inches high, 12 1⁄4 inches wide, and 5 1⁄4 inches deep. Has a unique design with a superior dial and original hands over the original dial pan and bezel. The original dial pan and bezel are in GREAT condition with a great antique patina. Has its original doors with the original glasses and original design w you can view the perfect condition original very fancy pendulum happily swinging doing its work. The original hook is still t in which to hang the clock on the wall! Complete with the original fancy pendulum (rare!) and even the original key! Runs great and keeps good time, while chiming the hours for you. The very rare thing about this clock is the movement is signed. These antique clocks amaze me - could you imagine any other consumer product still working perfectly after over a hundred years! And the truly amazing thing it is ready for the next 100 years, and will probably run indefinitely with tender loving care. Antique Clocks are a Fine Investment.
