Antique American Striped Flower Paperweight--Sandwich

is a really lovely Boston and Sandwich Glass pink/red striped flower. It dates from about 1865-75. The weight has a large central flower of six petals and a white Lutz rose center cane. The leaves are nicely done and attached perfectly to the flower and stem. The weight has its original profile and measures 2 3/4 inches in diameter and 1 7/8 inches in height. I have not seen any examples of this color of flower in my reference books on Antique American Paperweights. The bottom has a finished concave base and it does have some light surface scratches. The dome of the weight has some light ring ridges left by the maker when he did not block the weight completely to a smooth finish. These can be removed by a restorer with little impact to the weights orignal size. The weight also has a few very fine pits but for the most part it is clear and undamaged.
