The player is a violin student who always welcomes your comments. Enjoy! The wood used was carefully selected. The back and sides are of a special, lovely ribbon maple, flamey and very three dimensional. The top is a fine, high quality tone spruce. This is a high quality instrument from a better American violinmaker who was likely trained by the master luthiers of the late 19th & early 20th century. These makers were faithful to the German and Italian form. The original finish is a a deep oil varnish the color of honey. Its the kind of rich, glowing patina that only father time can create.
