Shipping | READ MY POLICIES PLEASE Antique Ansonia Cauldron Spun Brass Wrought Iron Handle We are in the process of liquidating the contents of a large Victorian Estate located in Orlando Florida and will be selling everything over the coming months. This cauldron dates back to the beginning of the estate. This was part of the fireplace decor in the formal living room of our 1880's Victorian estate. This Ansonia Cauldron is dated 1851 on the bottom. The estate appraiser said he has seen many Ansonia Cauldron's but never one this size. The mouth is a full 19" wide and 12" tall. T is a hand wrought handle and band that goes around the top for support. The brass is spun brass. A couple of places w the copper rolls over the cast iron support ring is chipped off. A wonderful cauldron in great condition for being over 150 years old ! The estate is on the outskirts of Orlando and sits on a 30 acre plot of land. It was homesteaded in the 1880's. The contents of the estate consists of everything from pre Civil War era to modern items. The recent owners are the last of the generations. He was a pilot for the military and was enlisted from the 1940's to the 70's. He and his wife traveled around the world several times. Visited many countries over the years. We were told he was a very loving husband and gifted her lavishly with presents. read more
