Antique Ansonia Rosalind Cast Iron Mantel Clock Winged Cherubs Pat March 21 1870 Here’s a very early example of the Ansonia Rosalind model clock. It has a patent date of March 21, 1870 located above the “12” on the bezel. This clock does not run and is being sold for restoration. The clock case has a very worn finish and surface rust. But it is complete with no cracks or missing parts. It has very nicely detailed winged cherubs along with Queen Elizabeth’s head directly underneath the clock face. The works are marked Ansonia and are in need of cleaning (see pictures). The works do strike the hour when the hour hand is moved forward. The clock does not have a pendulum or key. There are remnants of the original label on the back of the clock. The clock measures 15-1/4” long, 12-1/2” high and 4-3/4” wide. This is a great project clock.
