Antique ANSONIA Walnut Shelf Clock 1886 T/S/A NICE!

Antique Ansonia Clock Co. black walnut shelf or mantel clock fully restored in excellent working condition. If you are looking for a clock of this type, you would be hard pressed to find a finer example. Thirty-hour time and strike movement with gong on the hour (hour count) and optional alarm. This clock (model was named "Britannic") was made about 1886 and has survived in remarkable condition, including the original glass (with waves and bubbles). Original latch and hinges all work perfectly. Original hands and new Ansonia trademark dial paper. Case is solid. Movement was polished throughout during rebuild and is flawless (alarm as well). Strikes on nickel plated brass cup bell, and both the strike and alarm are adjusted and function perfectly. Comes with the beautiful original pendulum and old key. Dimensions are 11"W x 19 1/2"H x 4"D Please super-size photos for detail!

I show you photos of the movement after rebuild for this simple reason: If I buy a used car and I am told that it has a rebuilt engine, I want to look under the hood and see some evidence that it HAS been rebuilt. That seems only fair to me.....

Movement has been COMPLETELY REBUILT----professionally cleaned and thoroughly inspected. This process takes days to perform properly, and weeks for proper testing and adjustment. When you receive it, the clock will run like a new one. As required, new mainsprings, suspension, plate bushings or other components are installed, using only the finest quality available. Movement is cleaned a second time after all work is performed. Strike train is adjusted on striking clocks. Even the strike hammer insert is not overlooked, as a Cathedral Gong clock should sound like church bell, and not a sledge hammer striking a forge anvil. The movement is then lubricated with the best synthetic lubricants on the market today. After bench testing, the movement is returned to its case for final adjustment and allowed to run for one month to set its timing and assess its performance before sale. With proper care, the clock is then ready to run for at least another 100 years!

Being an antique, t are naturally small blemishes or signs of wear expected. Photographs are taken to show all angles of the clock; please ask if you need more images. Included with the clock are the pendulum bob and key for mainsprings and time adjustment, as well as an Owner's Guide for set-up and maintenance of your clock. I am available for contact after the sale, should you need any assistance.
