An early twentieth century clear glass apothecary bottle with the label under glass for Tincture of Gentian Compound. (Gentian was used as a tonic and in the treatment of fevers). This bottle has the makers letter "W" moulded into the base. It has a gold, red and white paper label which is set under glass. The label has some mottled cracking all over the white area - but it is still all there and very readable. The bottle is of quite heavy glass and is in undamaged condition. It does have some light old contents residue throughout the bottle. The stopper is free and fits well. A nice bottle, and a good size, being 8 inches (20.5 cm) in height (including the stopper). Would make a fantastic addition to a display of apothecary or scientific items, or for display in a kitchen. It is quite weighty and will need packing well, so please note the postage cost.
