Antique Apothecary Green Poison Bottle Ribbed Tincture of Arnica Burgundy on gold leaf label TINCT. ARNIC Æ Y G Co made by the Yorkshire Glass C ompany Measurement Height 8 inches (21mm) Diameter 3 inches (81mm ) This truly amazing poison bottle comes from my collection of old fashioned pharmacy bottles The tincture of Arnica Montana (or Leopard's Bane) is a herb from South America which has been traditionally used by Homeopathic Doctors for over 200 years. It is especially useful after traumatic injuries where there is excessive bruising and bleeding where the body aches as if beaten. Modern day Homeopaths use the same remedy ARNICA for bruises and sprains, aches and pains. In Victorian times Arnica Tincture would be stored in a green ribbed glass bottle, the vertical ribs make the bottle safer to dispense the liquid. The bottle is in perfect condition. The ground glass stopper can be removed and replaced at will. There are no chips or cracks to the bottle. There is a small blemish to the left of the label. The gold and burgundy label is otherwise in excellent condition. I am downsizing my collection of Victorian apothecary memorabilia to make more room for the wide selection of Homeopathic remedies and herbal tinctures which i stock as a professional homeopath.
