~CLEAR GLASS & STOPPER MEDICINE BOTTLES~ This lot of 16 amber bottles & glass stoppers consists of embossed, amber glass & glass stopper medicine bottles inscribed "LEWIS SHERMAN, MILWAUKEE ." All bottles include stoppers and most are neatly tied with original string. T is a mix of some to be without "flea-bites" on top edges and others that have "bites" and/or minor chips. Dr. Lewis Sherman was born in 1843 in Vermont , received his M.D. in 1870 from the University of New York and soon began practicing homoeopathy and prescribing homoeopathic medicines. He moved to Milwaukee , Wisconsin , and continued his practice. An interesting history is at the following : (Google: "Lewis Sherman, Milwaukee " or >/history/bio/s/shermanl.htm<). A discussion with Sherman 's great-grandson at an estate auction confirms the bottles' history. Bio information is included in package. We accept Paypal, cashiers' checks, and money orders.
