*NO RESERVE!* *ANTIQUE ARCADE CRYSTAL NO. 3 HANGING COFFEE MILL* *ORNATE CAST IRON HOUSING* PLEASE NOTE : We are Square Trade affiliated members and eBay Powersellers for many years. In agreement with ebay policy our auctions are now 'private auctions' for the mutual protection of our valued customers and ourselves from unsolicited interference and the many scams now occuring on the Internet. The official eBay bid history can be sent 'upon request' to the winner of the auction. Please email us if you have any questions. DESCRIPTION : We are offering an elegantly primitive American made antique Arcade Favorite hanging coffee mill or grinder. Dates later 1800s to early 1900s. This wonderful canister hanging mill features it original embossed glass hopper : CRYSTAL No. 3 with original embossed screw on & off tin lid. Glass hopper screws into the iron housing. Measures 18 1/2" long when hung x 5 1/4" wide at the mounting area. Crank is the original iron and wood handle with adjustment wing nut. Good examples of early coffee mills are rapidly becoming difficult to find. Cast iron housing is period ornate iron, see photos. The glass cup or keeper that fits on the bottom to catch the grinds was gone when found however this can be easily replaced with a clear glass cup that has a 2 3/8" base diameter. I have seen the original Arcade glass cups sell for as high as $175.00 on eBay in themselves and the embossed glass hoppers have sold for as high as $225.00 in themselves. Arcade hanging mills have become very sought after by antique mill collectors over the years. Mill was photographed from every angle possible with close-ups. T are no breaks in the iron. Mentioned for 100% accuracy only: the bottom nut that holds the arm for the glass cup is a tad loose, we have not tightened up any nuts, all the nuts are original. Iron was left as found and untouched. The bottom of the glass hopper that screws into the iron housing has a few tiny chips from years of use and turning, expected and nothing that detracts or effects it's value or beauty. A classic antique Americana coffee mill re: grinder from days gone by. Would look superb in any primitive Americana decor. Please don't wait until the last 10 seconds to bid, this is a superb find! Please check out my other items ! Be sure to add me to your favorites list ! Insured Priority shipping in the US will be $18.00, we might have to ship this in 2 boxes as not to exceed the new USPS postal 'outrageous' dimension rates .
