Rare Antique 4-Arm Victorian Aesthetic Rococo Silver ORMOLU TABLE LAMP Girandole Rare Antique 4-Arm Victorian Aesthetic Rococo Silver ORMOLU TABLE LAMP GirandoleThis incredible lamp measures 22.5" tall by 16" wide. It features intricate pierced filigree metal castings, 5 lights with reverse painted shades, and a beautiful antique silver patina (it appears to be silver plated). The shades are satin glass in white with embossed designs and reverse hand painted flowers. They're all the same size, shape, and design, but three have blue flowers and two have red flowers. The lamp was rewired at some point, and works perfectly. Each light has a pull-chain to turn on or off, and there is also an on/off turn switch on the cord. I've done a fair amount of searching, and I can't find another like it on the internet anywhere. It may have once been referred to as a newel post, banquet centerpiece, or table standard lamp. While I was unable to locate a maker's mark, there are marks on the lights themselves. The lamp sockets and covers are by Bryant, Pat'd Nov 26 1907. The shade holders are by Anker S Lyhne of Connecticut (home of Bradley & Hubbard, Miller, Handel, and others) and patented Aug 16, 1910.The lamp is antique, likely over a hundred years old, and therefore not quite perfect.
