This auction is for an original antique working bakelite 1A Monophone from the 1920's produced by the Automatic Electric Company. This telephone is not only very rare but is in exceptional condition. These phones are frequently used as models for many of today's reproductions because of their timeless style. It has beautiful solid brass accents decorating both it's handset as well as it's dial finger wheel. This phone has been meticulously disassembled, rewired, reassembled, polished and buffed to look as beautiful as it did in the roaring 20's. The only replacement parts you will find is a new black cloth line cord and new rubber ring around it's base. We have upgraded this phone a highly desirable mint condition original stock braided cord on the handset to complete it's look. This phone is in excellent condition and can be used to both place and receive calls. It has been equipped with a small modular RJ11 phone jack attachment at the end of it's cord so it can simply be plugged in and used like any new phone produced today. The dial is an Automatic Electric Type 24 which is very desirable because of it's great sound and it has a near mint porcelain numbers only dial plate.
