Antique Deco Bronze Nude Baby Bookends Very Unusual No Reserve For your consideration is an unusual and interesting set of art deco bronze or bronzed baby bookends. I have never ran across these before or seen them in any of the reference material. This is a really interesting set of bookends. I can not find a maker's mark anyw on these which really surprises me. They are very heavy and are obviously of quality manufacture. The bookends are not cast iron, they are eiither bronze or bronzed white metal. The look of the bookends and the feel of them in my hand reminds me of some of the Gorhams that I have seen, but again I can not find a maker's mark. The design is unusual, t is a very dark macabre feel to these. I am sure that it was the artist's intent - but I am not sure what their meaning was behind it. You will have to enjoy these jewels, they are intriguing, and seem to be rare pieces. Height: 6.5 Inches Width: 4.5 Inches Depth: 2.5 Inches Condition: Both bookends are in very nice shape. The felt is missing from the bottom of the bookends; typical. T is quite a bit of greening to the bookends. I can not tell if this was by design or if it is part of the age of the bookends.
