We are delighted to offer you this beautiful, antique rhodium filigree and camphor glass lavaliere necklace, from the Art Deco era! These were very popular in the day of the speakeasys and post World War I years, and are once again finding favor among the gals. Our necklace features a fancy open work flower shaped upper piece, from which dangles the delicately filigreed and camphor glass pendant. ( please note; in some of the photos, t is a golden tint to the piece, that is due to the lighting i used to show better detailing- the piece is gleaming silver color). The camphor glass is domed with a star-burst ribbing emitting from the center . In the center is the traditional silver embossed florette, which has the illusion of bearing a stone! so cleverly is this done, that even with my lighted high power scientific magnification, i could not discern if t was indeed an old mine-cut diamond in t, or if it were an illusion! ) The camphor glass is secured by 3 large embossed rectangular prongs, and is free of chips, cracks and scratches. The lavaliere portion measures 1 5/8" long, and approximately 5/8" in width. The lavaliere came with a 17 " chain with a sort of gold washed look, which you could replace with a fine link sterling or white gold chain for a brighter look.
