AVINTAGE ART DECO DESIGN CASIGE Miniature Working sewing machine All Metal, German
This is part of a collection of 3 Casige machines: 2 others are now listed on my pages This is a vintage CASIGE crank Operated Miniature Sewing Machine Model 116 with the Geometric Pattern Decal BOX base. The Sewing Machine is operated by a wood hand crank attached to a heavy rotary metal wheel which manually operates the gears and levers. Turning the crank starts the machine sewing and operates the fabric feed dog and the sewing needle drive. Features: All heavy solid metal construction: no plastic parts. Gear and shaft driven. T are no belts or pulley to break: the metal rods are screwed to the outside of the body. Realistic look and construction with built in thread holder, spring loaded tensioner, thread guides, locking fabric tensioner and guide and standard needles. Easily disassembled with screws for service and repair. Includes an original old spool thread. Construction: All metal body and metal gearworks. wood knob on the hand crank. Chrome plated platen. Operates like a standard machine except this does not use a bobbin. The machine is mounted into a very solid metal base with a cut out on both sides, to allow the base to be clamped to a table top. Very nicely finished in black paint and covered with geometric style bright decals. Decal of golden eagle reads, Casige" . The Metal platen is stamped " MADE IN GERMANY, British ZONE" and also in German with a serial number CONDITION: Very good. Operates perfectly with smooth gears. The black paint is faded or dull in a few areas and t are a few scratches off the decals. The platen is shiny, but has some fading of the chromed finish. Some signs of corrosion on the metal parts, but no major rust or damage. Measures 9" long by 7 " tall by 5" wide. Very nice for a machine a half century old. Shipped weight is 4 pounds. I ship within one day of payment.
