Art Deco cherry amber/ bakelite necklace, dating from the 1920s. This piece has large graduated barrel shaped beads, the largest of which is 1.7cm x 1.1cm and the smallest is 1.2cm x 0.8cm. The clasp is unmarked but acid tests as 9ct gold. The bakelite is solid in colour and you can not see through it and it is cherry red colour. When tested it displays displays a dark yellow stain on the cloth. This necklace is approx. 52cm in length and weighs approx. 80 grams. The beads are knotted onto silk and it looks like it has been rethreaded at some point. Condition: Very minor wear but generally in good vintage condition.
