Gorgeous "Art Deco" Oak Dropleaf Table When leaves are down, table measures 35" long, 20" wide, and 30" high. Turn out the beautifully carved "art deco" gate legs and the table is 35" wide, 60" (5 feet) long, and 30" high. This item was purchased several years ago from a local dealer. T was a shallow scratch in the table (pictured) that likely resulted from normal wear and tear over the years. The dealer who sold it to me reported that he made no attempt to touch it up, as he believed that the finish on the table is original. While I am not sure how to test his theory, I can say that the table was very well cared for and it is in great condition. I was also told that the legs and feet on this table are very unusual and signify an early nod to the "art deco" movement. It is a beautiful piece that is perfect if you have a smaller living space or if you want to have a second table that can serve as an additional seating area. This was often used as either a serving station for a brunch buffet or as a "kiddie" table when the extended family came for dinner. This is a great table to keep on hand since it does not take up much space when the leaves are lowered. Ocassionally, one leaf was raised and the table was used as a work station for homework or special projects. Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs. Given the weight of the table, I will be shipping the piece via Greyhound. I have used them in the past and have found the service to be quite reliable. Serious bidders can inquire about approximate shipping costs by providing me with the Greyhound terminal closest to them. I am not an antique dealer, but I do appreciate beautiful pieces of furntiture like this one. This table is sold "as is" and I am confident that someone will be very happy to own this unusual piece of history. Happy bidding!
