Art Deco Sapphire Earrings…… How beautiful are these? and what a fantastic present they would make. These very attractive Art Deco Style Earrings are made from high carat gold and silver – they are handmade and set a central Pink Tourmaline stone surrounded by ten baguette cut Sapphires and 20 Dutch Rose cut diamonds. Here is my opinion……..I think these are of Colonial Indian or African origin and date to around the 1920’s /30’s made for a European Lady / Memsaab perhaps by a local jeweller. The heavy frames are a mixture of both gold and silver, with gold surrounding the Sapphires and Tourmaline and silver surrounding the diamonds. The heavy thick screw posts are 22ct and I have had my jeweller add some 18ct (750) stamped butterfly fixings. The stones all look natural, there is some zoning in the Sapphires and the tourmaline is full of natural flaws as are the diamonds, the price of course reflects this. These are really beautiful and substantial earrings, they weigh 9 grams and measure 5/8 th ” (1.6cm) wide x 1 ¼” long (3.2cm). Please note none of the boxes above are original to the earrings but I will provide a good quality reproduction box for presentation with your earrings. K934 All Weights & Measures are Approximate.
