AN ELEGANT HALLMARKED SILVER TOPPED PERFUME BOTTLE FROM THE ART NOUVEAU PERIOD.The item may be pre-1900, difficult to know, but it is definatly Art Nouveau in style. The heavy etched glass portrays intertwined flowers/leaves which look like Harebells, whilst the silver top has a relief design of Iris....a flower very often portrayed in this period.The item comprises of the bottle, silver collar and hinged lid and glass stopper. Hallmarks, some illegible, are located on the collar and the rim of the top....Lion Passant, WG?, O, A Shield...there are more but unreadable I'm afraid.The item is in very good condition but for approx. three small dents in the silver top, commensurate with age...over 100 years, and usage. It does need a good clean!It is an elegant pleasing shape, with a very feminine look/design.Measurements are : 14cms high and 7cms diam at the base which is the widest part.
