Hello and welcome. This auction is for an antique cast iron lamp with a slag glass shade. I rewired it and repainted parts of it that had rust - through of the paint. I was able to very closely match the original paint on both the shade and the base. Light sockets have a unique mounting system which allows them to rotate a bit. The decorative filagree on the shade is cast brass but the strips between the curved slag glass panels are steel. The base is cast iron with a brass tube supporting the light sockets, which are original. The shade has eight glass panels and is about eighteen inches in diameter. The foot of the lamp is approximately eight inches in diameter with the overall height of the lamp right at twenty-four inches. The 90 watt bulbs shown are too bright and probably 60 watt bulbs would be the better choice. I used vintage cloth covered wire for the cord and a vintage plug. Shade is fitted for the base and just sets straight down on it. The base and shade will likely need to be shipped in two individual boxes, each weighing about ten pounds. I am offering this very nice old lamp with no reserve, buyer pays shipping for two, ten pound boxes. Thanks!
