This rug, approximately 9x12, is over 80 years old. It was purchased by my parents when they married and was used in their first apartment. It was stored for many years after in the back of our grocery store, and subsequently placed in the office of our home in Portage Park on the NW side of Chicago. It is a dark colored rug in muted pastel shades with multi borders outlined in black. It has a very attractive design which appears to be of exotic birds and foliage. The name listed on the underside of the rug is Karagheusians Herati. I believe it may have been manufactured between 1920 and 1930 and may be considered an art nouveau design. It is machine made of unknown material and could be a Wilton rug. I have never seen another rug of similar type or design. It might be of interest to a collector. The top of the rug is in good condition, however t are some water stains on the underside. This was in a non pet home. You will notice on the full length photo a light area which was a reflection of the sun when I took the picture. This item can be picked up in Portage Park. I have described this to the best of my ability. This is a final sale. Thank you for viewing.
