ANTIQUE ATLANTIC SEWING MACHINE MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN This inherited heavy Atlantic metal sewing machine was made in Occupied Japan. It looks to me like it is a hand-crank machine as I see no evidence of w a plug would be. The name "Atlantic" is in gold lettering with plenty of gold designs. On the serial (or model) plate on the bottom right of the machine is K24571 . Underneath the machine the words " TAKARA " and " NO. 1 " are embossed. The needle goes up and down when I turn the wheel and t is even a bobbin and thread still in it. It is, however, missing the cover plate over the needle area. The Bobbin Winder has a black piece of circular rubber that has split apart which I think provides traction for the bobbin to to be filled with thread. T appears to be a stitch width lever (or something else) on the front. T is a nice ornate silver decorative covering on the side of the machine by the needle mechanism. The pressure foot lever goes up and down, too. T is a circular silver ornate cover in the back of the machine near w the spool of thread goes and it slides to the side and opens up - for what purpose, I do not know but, I am guessing , that it is to get inside to see what is going on with the moving parts. It comes on a hand-made wooden base. This would make a nice conversation piece. I could also see this on a TV set or Movie Set. This machine is being sold AS IS. If you are the winning bidder, please contact me before making any payment as we will need to discuss what type of shipping (or pick-up if you are in the So. CA area) you would like as the machine is heavy and I want to be sure it is packaged properly. Buyer pays shipping cost and handling charges (crate for shipping) which will be discussed when winning bidder contacts seller. Paypal, Personal checks, Money Orders & Cashier's Checks are acceptable. Thanks for stopping by and happy bidding!
